Wow – I can’t believe September is here already! It’s been a busy few days since I last posted: First, DH had a business trip on the other side of the continent so the baby and I were alone for the first time (I’m not good at being both Mommy and Daddy!); then my MIL and SIL were in town for the Holiday weekend (which means house cleaning before they arrived and laundry after they went home); toss in a couple of trips to the dentist and Wal-Mart and a visit to Sam’s Club for good measure and you have my schedule. Now I know that’s nothing compared to what some of you super people do daily, but I thought I was running around in circles!
I did get some time to scrap today, so here’s what I came up with for the Lyrics challenge at DSO:

I have an amazing family, so I thought Martina McBride’s lyrics fit perfectly. Since this layout started life as the submission for the Numbers challenge at DSO, I selected a sketch with 9 photos from Becky Fleck’s PageMaps and created a template from it. The papers and buttons are from Sondra Scraps Pressed Flowers kit with one of Heather Manning’s Grunge Overlays on the top strip. The lace is from Kim Broedelet’s Lace and Trim kit and the doodle is from her Template Gift 1 blog freebie. I used Jan Hosford’s stitching from her Through the Years kit and styles from Alexis Green (PaoJava) and Erica Hite. My font selections were Edwardian Script for the Title and Fine Hand for everything else.

Speaking of challenges, I made a checklist for all of the September challenges at DSO, that just happened to work well with the Font challenge. Here’s a preview:
