Blog Awards • 10.09.07

Ok, so it’s a bit later than Friday – but I’ve arrived at my first recipients for blog awards!

Since I couldn’t resend to Heather, Lynn, or Kim (whose blogs I visit daily and whose designs and stories I just love); my choices for the You Make Me Smile awards are (insert drum roll):

Kristine – I know she’s already gotten this from others, but I couldn’t resist. She makes me laugh on a daily basis! I love her no bull call it like she sees it ‘tude and her great stories…someday when I grow up I want to be like Kris and Kim! LOL
Nikki – another great scrapper out there and as I found out at the DSO chat – she’s 1 month and 1 day younger than me and we graduated the same year. Nikki’s blog is a riot too!
Bunny – Like Kim and Kris, Bunny calls it like she sees it! Sometimes her blog makes me laugh so hard I can’t breathe and other times I want to reach through cyberspace and give her a hug! Plus, she’s the only one I know with her own painted castle and vampire closet (check out her blog to see what I mean) LOL!

For my I Love Your Blog awards, I nominate:

Hummie – What’s not to love? This lady has freebies, tutorials, designer interviews, product reviews, and tons of other stuff to share. I’ve only recently found her blog, but make it one of my daily stops. From scrapping to faith to life, she’s got it all! Great job!
Simply Sarah – Another fabulous lady who shares everything from templates to planners to faith and inspiration with anyone in the blogosphere. I found Sarah’s site through Heather’s blog and visit it often as well. She is a very talented and generous person indeed.
Coleen – lots of spunk and some freebies too! A fellow “girl-engineer” who isn’t afraid to tell us what she thinks or how she feels. Coleen had a fabulous post about 9/11 that I felt was really touching. She’s also done some fantastic layouts – so definitely a site to check out.

Last but by no means least; I give the Thank You for Being You Award to:

Sondra Teer – the lady who introduced me to and has encouraged me to play in this wonderful digiscrapping world. Thanks lady – I owe lots to you! Good luck in KS, we’re going to miss you!

I guess that’s about all for now – better late than never right?!?! I’ll try to be back tomorrow with another page from Nadya’s book and some updates from DSO and anything else that I can think of that might be interesting.

It’s Thursday • 10.04.07

I can’t believe it’s already Thursday! I swear, time is just speeding by faster and faster! So, guess what happened today!?!?! My sweet baby girl rolled over from her back to her tummy! She’s been going from tummy to back for awhile now since she HATES tummy time! I was so excited for her! And, last night she made a new sound – kind of a high pitched happy squeal. She’s been testing her volume control for about a week now, and blowing bubbles/spitting for close to a month, so of course we were very excited to have a new noise added to her “vocabulary”. Then, at bed time, she was a little unhappy and it sounded like she cried Mama – I know it was just a fluke – but still! I’m so loving every minute of this mommy gig!
Then, Lynn gave me a Nice Award today! Add Heather’s I love your blog award and Kim’s You Make Me Smile award from last week and I’m in heaven! So, check back tomorrow and I’ll have all my “regifts” ready!

Since I think my baby is just amazing, I’m going to share another of her layouts from her Shutterfly book. I called this one Sitting Pretty because she was trying so hard to sit-up on her own. We’re still working on that, but I managed to catch photos of this particular attempt. I used papers from Kim Broedelet’s Floralidoo Freebie and the folded ribbons are hers from the DSO June Megakit – Me and My Daddy that I recolored. The vellum style is one of Erica Hite’s and the template is one of Simply Sarah’s that I modified slightly. As always, thanks to Atomic Cupcake for her actions.

Just Another Manic Monday…I Mean Tuesday • 10.02.07

Whew! We had a really busy weekend! Friday was our 5^th Anniversary, so we spent most of the day shopping and running errands (and having lunch at Red Lobster – yum!), then we came home long enough to unload the car, bathe the baby, and head back out again. We spent the evening with some friends having a bonfire. Not what I would call romantic, but fun nonetheless. Then on Saturday we had to clean and rearrange our living room, tons of work, but it looks so much better now! I was also working on my daughter’s Shutterfly book – had to get it done by midnight PDT in order to use my free coupon. So Sunday I was scrapping like a mad woman to get the book done. I had to stop to eat lunch and dinner (we had some other friends from out of state come out for dinner), but I managed to get it done – in the nick of time I might add! Of the 20 pages, the one of Nayda pouting is at the top of my favorites list. I used Heather Manning’s Little Black Dress Papers and her Candy Apples kit and templates from Bunny Cates (from Scrap Your Art Out for the LO) and Wendyzine Scraps (to make sure I stayed within Shutterfly parameters). My computer started freaking out and so there’s no journaling other than the title – I had to get this baby uploaded before the deadline and/or a computer or PS crash! But, I actually think it works well in this case – the photos speak for themselves. J

Yesterday Nadya and I braved Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart, today is laundry day! Woohoo! Then the new challenges for October are up at DSO, so I’ve got to get busy on them! I’ve got a couple of blog award nominations to work on too – so I’ll keep you posted – most everyone I would pick has already been selected or nominated me in the first place, so I guess it’s off to do some blog-surfing!
