Continuing on our scrapping trend, have you visited the DSO forums?  Tomorrow is the last day to finish the challenges and earn the Monthly Mega – Delicate Romance in addition to all of the fabulous posting bonuses!  Then, for October, we’re changing things up a bit and offering a Download A Day of various goodies and then a HUGE Halloween surprise at the end of the month.  You definitely DON’T want to miss this one! 

In other news, I think we’re moving!!! My husband received an amazing offer from OG&E in his home state of Oklahoma and he accepted it last Friday…so why am I not jumping up and down?  Well, I called our relocation point of contact in the HR dept today and the copy of the offer letter he had is VERY different from the one we have in a not so good way…and in typical HR fashion, they are having to review the situation and determine which version they are going to work with…can you say deal breaker!?!?!  Anyhow, we’re hopeful that the situation will be worked out in our favor, but then I must admit that I don’t have warm fuzzies about letting their HR department coordinate and orchestrate the packing, moving, and unpacking of our belongings!  I guess we’ll have to wait and see! This is our first experience with large scale move and one that is corporate sponsored – maybe all of this is normal and I just didn’t know it!

While I’m going on personal rants, I’m going to add the Economy in the US right now!  I wasn’t 100% supportive of the bail-out plan, but I do believe something has to be done and that the Executives and "Players" that were instrumental in the creation of this current situation should be held VERY accountable!  I must say I am disappointed that playing politics and party lines, on both sides, continues to get in the way of actually accomplishing anything.  The House can’t pass a financial resolution, yet there are those who like us to hand over our Health Care to them???  I’m seeing a frightening trend towards Socialism that really concerns me – but hey that’s another post!

Today marks the 7th Anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the crash landing in the Pennsylvania field.  To this day I feel a sense of sadness and then anger and indignation. Sadness for the lives that have been lost, anger at the attacks themselves and those who condoned, supported, planned and knew about them and yet did nothing to stop them, and indignation at the apathy that has seemingly come over my country and those who would tell me to either forget what happened, that the attacks were deserved, or that we should move on.  The quote that comes to mind is “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”  While I don’t wish to relive that tragedy daily, I am reminded of it often in the ways my country has changed since that time – and a lot of those changes aren’t for the better, and with a highly-charged and very political (in every sense) election coming, I see the division and nastiness becoming even more prevalent.  It might do my Nation well to remember the candidates are just people, we are voting for our future…may we ALWAYS stand United for division hurts us all.
