Nadya and I spent time in the craft room this morning – we have a birthday party this afternoon, so we created coordinating cards and packaging for little Ryan’s first birthday.

All in all we are both happy with the outcome.   I cut the bag topper using Make The Cut and my Cricut – a HUGE Thank You to Penny Duncan for creating the cutting file for me! Nadya selected the colors for the balloons and lettering. I also played with my Cri-Kits pens to draw the lettering outline before cutting the topper – fun, and EASY to use!

The little swirls are from a retired SU set  called Fresh Fillers and are stamped in SU Brilliant Blue. These toppers or bag skirts really are an easy way to dress up a gift bag!

After we finished the bag, we started on the cards – I made one and so did Nadya.

We both used images from Dustin Pike – another of my favorite digi-stamp designers. For my coloring medium, I opted for my ”old school” SU markers; while Nadya selected her trusty Crayola fine-tip Pip Squeaks. She insisted we write to Ryan from Nadya on the front instead of on the inside of her card – she wanted to make sure he knew it was his.

Just a quick post this morning – we have a million things to do!  We had a Christmas party for the staff at the preschool this week.  My last gift to my secret Santa partner was a gift card and some truffles. Sam’s club did a beautiful job with the truffle packaging so O wanted the gift card to be equally presented. I used the Pretty Packaging set from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff along with Make The Cut to create this little surprise holder:

Those who know Miss Mel, know gold and sparkle are definitely “her” – so this went together beautifully.  And…my friend Bunny would be so proud of me – I used my Ranger Alcohol Inks and Mixatives to make the shimmery mat paper!  Here’s a peek at what it looked like starting out:

Good Morning! Another Thursday is upon us, so that means today is Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Day!  If you’re looking for the Tiffany Doodles blog hop – click here or scroll down. For this week, Lindsay challenged us to use the theme Sweet Treats – here’s what I came up with: I used one of Lindsay’s Halloween Favors cutting templates and Make The Cut (MTC) software that I purchased through Designing with DieCuts (and let me tell you I LOVE this new version – WOW – what a powerful and easy to use tool) with my Cricut to make the holder. I decorated it with “tinsel” – a really fabulous ribbon from my stash – but I thought it needed something else.  I looked all over for my tiny Christmas ornaments and couldn’t find them  then I remember I had the Santa’s Toyland Tags set from SVGCuts.com so I used MTC and my Cricut to cut out the bottom layer of the Stocking (I welded a circle over the tag hole so that it was one continuous layer) and cut from red DP.  I embossed the stocking with my Argyle Cuttlebug folder and then added the “fur” top with my Quickie Glue pen and white Stampin’/Fun Flock.  The test tube is food grade and filled with mini M&M’s – this was my test run and I think it’s cute and easy – now I need to make 10 more for the teachers/staff at Nadya’s preschool!
