Happy Thursday! Welcome to another Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff day!
One of our neighbors is going through a rough time, so I thought I’d create a card for her. I’ve always been a huge fan of Irises – my husband’s grandparents have beautiful ones surrounding their home in Montana. I have a few in my yard as well, but nothing like the ones up North. That being said, I knew Lindsay’s Iris and Bud stamp would be perfect for a Thinking of You type of card.
I started in Photoshop with a palette size of 2.5′”x5” and resized my image accordingly. I duplicated the Iris layer and then colored the lower layer with Jodiann’s Chalkies Styles. Then I set the upper flower layer blend mode to Soft Light and applied a watercolor paper texture to it. The blue background is a fabulous digi-paper from Designs by Kristine’s new Daisy Mae kit. I printed the flower and background layer together in addition to 2 extra flowers. I trimmed the flower and bud and layered it with pop-up dots.
I added color, shimmer, and additional detail with my Spica glitter markers (Orange, Peach, Lavender, Lemon, and Olive). The DP layer is edges with Ballet Blue (SU). I layered the assembled flower group onto a DCWV glitter panel (Holiday Mat Stack) that I edged with my Martha Stewart Loops edge punch and trimmed with sheer olive organdy ribbon. I added tiny adhesive pearls (Michaels) for a bit of dimension. The card base is from my stash and is embossed with my Big Shot and Flourish (SU) texture plate. I dabbed Lavender ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink across the base to highlight the embossing. The sentiment (SU-retired) is stamped in Vintage Violet (SU).
That’s all from me – be sure to visit Lindsay’s blog if you haven’t already – there’s always fabulous ideas and freebies to be found as well as the links to the other DT blogs.
