The Red Door01.03.11

When we were having our family photos done last November, Grace Robertson found this fabulous red door in Mesilla.  It made for a stunning backdrop – Nadya was specifically thrilled by the fact that the door matched her boots (which alas, are sadly too small…time for another shopping trip).  Fast forward to Christmas break – I have a few minutes to spend at the PC while Nadya and Daddy play and Designs By Kristine sends her DT members a new to treat to play with…and well a creation is born: Kit: Designs by Kristine Crimson Moss

Thank you Grace, for taking such stunning pictures of my precious little one, and thank you Kristine for the perfect kit to compliment them! I truly love all of the photos in our set, but the red door series is beyond compare.  I haven’t scrapped in awhile, so this felt GREAT and I love how it turned out!

I hope you have a fabulous week and that the 1st Monday of 2010 is a good one for you! Today is shopping day – so we’ll be heading to “The Mart” for groceries in a bit…hoping that if we go early we’ll miss most of the lines.  Once preschool starts again, that won’t be an option.

Happy Friday11.26.10

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at home yesterday – plenty of food and naps!  While we won’t be hitting any of the stores today, if DH and little one are feeling better (sore throat and coughs yesterday), we may venture out for a bit this afternoon in the name of family fun – aka selecting our Christmas Tree.

Since today is Black Friday, I wanted to remind everyone of a few online specials – no standing in lines or fighting crowds required!

Winterland Fun11.11.10

Before sharing today’s creative venture, I wanted to wish our Service Men and Women a Happy Veterans’ Day! Thank you so much to our Armed Service members – both current and past – we all owe you a debt of gratitude for your service and sacrifice. May our flags be flown proudly in your Honor and Memory.

All hasn’t quite returned to normal in our household – my needle biopsy went as well as those sorts of procedures go and the results should be in within the next week or so.  I have another visit to the doctor this afternoon to address the nagging sore throat that refuses to go away! With that being said, I did manage, with the help of some Tylenol, to sneak in some crafting time with Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff (and to celebrate Fall – there is a 50% off sale TODAY only at My Grafico). I played in Photoshop with Lindsay’s Winterland set along with Jodiann’s Christmas Be kit, and KimB’s Lace styles . I really enjoyed experimenting with textures within Photoshop – the texturizer is rapidly becoming one of my favorite tools! I designed two printable card fronts – here’s what they look like straight out of Photoshop – ready to print and go:  LSS_Winterland_Fronts_wmBut, me being me, and after fighting with my printer (it kept scaling whether I wanted it to or not), I opted to print and then cut and embellish. LSS_Winterland_Cards_wmI had a lot of fun adding sparkle, shine, pearls, and rhinestones! LSS_Winterland_Card1_wmRecipe:

That’s all from me! Have a fabulous day! If you haven’t visited Lindsay’s blog, be sure to stop by for fabulous inspiration, freebies, and the links to the other DT projects. Don’t forget the 50% off sale for today either!mg_celebratefall_sale
