Creepy Crawlies09.26.11

Well, maybe not quite so creepy!  I received an awesome email from Echo Park Paper indicating cutting files from some of their fabulous kits were now available in SVG format at iDieCut.com.  Woohoo! As Nadya and I were browsing at iDieCut, she LOVED the spider web from Echo Park’s Happy Halloween line…so we decided to take advantage of this week’s 25% off coupon and spend some quality time creating while Daddy slaved away at work. With the help of my Make The Cut software we created this fun shaped card:  DD_SpiderandWeb_wmThe web is cut from glitter DCWV cardstock and adhered to a grey shaped “shadow” layer card (love my Brother Backster for this one).  No web would be complete without a spider, so we searched through my cutting files and found “the perfect spider” (according to Nadya) i n my SVGShop folder.  I cut him out using Make The Cut as well – then added the “fuzz” – easily created with Heat N Stick Powder and black flocking. His eyes are red adhesive pearls. Nadya and I were both pleased with the results! While we’re one the subject of spiders, I’m proud to showcase one of Nadya’s creations using a Halloween Digi-Stamp from SuzyQScraps designs: SillySpider_23SEP2011_wmHer medium of choice: Fiskars Gel Pens, so of course there is a lot more glitter, shimmer, and shine in person!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Sneak Peek11.02.10

Hold on to your hats – I actually scrapped! Ok, now that the shock is over, here’s a peek at the mini album I put together of Nadya’s preschool Halloween party fun.  I’m only showing 3 of the 27 pages since the others features children that aren’t mine.Halloween2010-preview I used Jessica Sprague’s Photoshop Friday #24 Spooks Mini Album templates paired withDesigns By Kristine’s October Afternoon digital kit to create this fun and gender neutral album.  I’ve already sent it off to be printed – each sheet has 3 mini album pages on it, so I’ll trim them and then bind it all together as a fun memento for her classroom.  Who knows – maybe I’ll even get an album of her Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat photos done – Daddy’s desk photos are in dire need of updating!

Have a fabulous evening!

Halloween Cupcake10.31.10

Rounding out my last 2 October Doodle Pantry projects, I played with Laurie’s Birdie Bat and Birthday Birdie digital stamp sets. DP_Batty_wmThis cutie is colored using the Magic Pencils technique with Glossy Accents and Stickles for emphasis. DP, CS, and ribbon are from my stash.DP_CupcakeBirdie_wmI used the Magic Pencils technique along with Stickles to color this precious birdie.  I added some eyelet ribbon and organdy flowers for a fun and feminine touch.  The stitching is courtesy of my purple Staedtler triplus fineliner pen. The CS is Bazzill embossed with an SU texture plate.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween.  Nadya enjoyed her weekend adventures with a Fall Festival on Friday and Trunk or Treat with her friend Abby on Saturday.  We will be “selling” her excess candy tomorrow at one of the local dental offices – they send the candy to our troops overseas and Nadya doesn’t make herself sick eating it – a win-win situation!

Have a fabulous week and for those in the US – don’t forget to VOTE on Tuesday if you haven’t already.
